When it becomes difficult to remove a bank account from PayPal
There are certain cases where it is stressful to unlike banks from PayPal. Some users experienced difficulty removing banks linked to their PayPal accounts at times. There can be two scenarios for which you might face hurdles in removing the accounts.
Pending transactions
If you have a waiting payment/transactions in your PayPal account linked to the bank account you want to unlink, the process cannot be completed. It is because the bank account you want to remove is already in operation.
First, you need to check whether all the transactions relating to that account have been settled or not to remove a bank account. If not, you need to wait for the transactions to complete.
Once there is no pending transaction, you can go ahead with the steps mentioned above. Then you can unlink your bank account from PayPal.
On PayPal, you can add multiple bank accounts and cards. Suppose you have added three bank accounts; out of them, you need to make one account as a primary account. When you want to remove your bank account, you need to see whether it is the primary account or not.

Primary bank account
If the bank account you wish to remove is a primary one, you need to update and change it to another bank account. When you make another bank account, the primary one, you are free to remove the bank account you do not want.
If you try to unlink an account, your primary account on PayPal, the removal request won’t be processed. This only applies to the primary account.
