    Our bank CountingUp doesn’t appear to want to listen to us, appears not to believe us, and is being unbelievably unhelpful.

    We used to be cheerleaders of CountingUp… but today’s email trail is frustrating.

    Perhaps choosing a bank based on how fast they’ll get you up and running wasn’t the wisest decision.

  3. I can understand a one off payment but this has just shown under my direct debits, does that just mean they used that service for a one off payment or have taking that amount (£100) out monthly? (though i found notes in a notebook that an amount of £30 was also taken out last year which I’d mistaken for a monthly direct debit.

    I had messaged bank to see if they had more info before finding this site but if they just use it for a single payment can I delete it from my DD page cos it confusing if its not been coming out monthly?

    Another account had 2 paypal transactions in DD section too which I’ve cancelled cos I couldn’t remember who they were and it showed no details other than ‘paypal’

  5. This happen to me today. I saw a Paypal transaction of £8.48 which is a direct debit. I enquired to my bank and was informed that it is a transaction done by JPMC re: Paypal Ltd.
    This is very surprising and infuriating that anyone can just get money from your account without your approval. I am very concern that this JPMC will do this to my account every month.

  6. I have had money taken out of my bank account since 2008. It says PayPal Intl and a reference ID 5TU22222V5AHC . When I called my Bank they said the number was for JP Morgan Bank in Bournmouth. I don’t know who the people are taking my money. When I tried to cancel the DD my Bank, Lloyds, refused to cancel it. They said to call PayPal. No success with them. I cannot get a human being to speak to me.

  7. I’ve just had a payment of £61.81 taken from my account under a new Direct Debit that has been set up in the name of “Paypal Payment” and my bank has confirmed it has sent the payment to JP Morgan Chase Bank.

    There is no mention of this payment on my PayPal account, PayPal know nothing of it and I did not receive the usual alert from my bank that a new Direct Debit had been set up.

    How can anyone get around that much security to set up a new Direct Debit??

  8. PayPal is fraudulent and without ones knowledge are helping themselves to our money. I found they set up two DD on my bank account today. Thefts and should be reported to the police.
