Why Verify PayPal Account?

PayPal is not really strict when you sign up for an account. You may use it as soon as it is activated and without a fuss. You can quickly deposit funds on the store without a limit and spend the money right away.

Here is where the importance of verifying PayPal account comes in. If a PayPal account is unverified, you will have limited access to PayPal features. These limitations include transfer to other PayPal accounts and the amount of money you can withdraw to your bank account!

Besides, if you verify PayPal, you will make the platform a lot safer. This is because you are helping the company only allow real people to use the feature. Unverified PayPal accounts can do spammy things, commit fraud, or launder money. Hence, they are given only limited access to their money.

When dealing with a verified PayPal account, you will feel much confident that you are dealing with a person that made an effort to prove that they are who they say they are. And with confidence, both sides will be more willing to do business.

Connecting a bank account or credit card to PayPal

  1. Assuming that you already have signed up for a PayPal account. Now you should connect a bank account or credit card. To do this, log in to your PayPal account on a web browser.

  2. On the main dashboard of your account, you should see a “Add a bank account” button under your profile summary; click on that.

  3. Or you can click the Wallet tab on top of your PayPal account.Link A Card

  4. On the next page, click on the “Link a card” button.

  5. Then fill-up the form. Choose the card type that you want to enroll.

  6. It could be a bank card, MasterCard, or a credit card.

  7. Type in the card number, expiration date, and whatnots next to it.

  8. Click on the Save button when you are done.

  9. That’s it. You have now linked your card to your PayPal account.

Note

You can always edit or remove the card that you linked to your PayPal account. Also, you can add as many cards as you want on your PayPal account so you can have more funds to access in case you are short on one card.

Verify PayPal Account

You can only do this procedure if you have already added a card to your PayPal account. If not, go back up and do the step-by-step guide on adding a card to a PayPal account. If you are finished with that part, let’s continue on the verification of your PayPal account.

Reminder

Now, you will have to keep in mind that for PayPal to confirm the card’s existence, it will deduct a certain amount from the card’s current funds. The amount that will be removed will be around $1.95 or around $2.00, depending on the current dollar exchange.

Don’t worry because, after the confirmation, PayPal will reimburse the money and pay back the deducted amount as soon as possible. Typically, the deducted amount should be returned to you after 24 hours or up to one week.

When looking for the 4-digit code that PayPal will require to verify your account, it should start with the “PP” prefix followed by the 4-digit code. Pay special attention to this detail. Otherwise, you could end up repeating the same process all over again. And that means you could end up not taking back the first deduction that PayPal made on the first try.

Conclusion

If you have done this whole process properly, you should enjoy all the benefits and features of PayPal. Enjoy unlimited deposits and unrestricted withdrawal from PayPal to your bank account. You will need to check your card statement or bank statement for the code/ card security code and enter it on your PayPal account.

Besides that, you can also enjoy some perks from PayPal’s affiliates requiring only verified accounts. Trust me; there are tons of benefits waiting for you when you are finally a verified user.

Note that Paypal ask you for essential information when you sign up to PayPal, but as you transact with Paypal, They are under a legal obligation to know more about you. 1. Its been month that I have been using paypal to received my salary. I have my 2 bank accounts linked to it. But I was surprise that, only last week I received an email stating to verify my identity and address. They should have it required upon creating the account to make sure that everyone using their platform is genuine and not fraud.

  2. I linked my bank account to it but my account is still not verified. I applied for a transcription job online and when they checked, they said that my account is still not verified. What seems to be the problem?

  3. Apparently they require us to link a credit card as well, along with the bank account in order to grant the ‘verified account’ status. Try linking your card now, hopefully it will work.
